I'm coming with my walking tank. Some of you may have played with the OLD one a couple of years back at a MXS game. The ATST. Or played with it at Challenge Park or Sherwood but none of you have played against the new and improved version. This will be its 2nd engagement and a field test for some upgrades.
It is a backpack based walking tank. Kind of a Mech Warrior-Zombie thingy.
All the players need to come prepared to play against this tank. Unless another tank registers for the game, I will be playing on BOTH sides. There is a good chance you will wind up looking at the wrong end of this tank.
This has been and will continue to be a very dangerous tank. Especially against any opposing armor. It will be UP TO THE INFANTRY to neutralize the tank so come prepared to fight it.
So if you don't have any anti armor capabilities to bring with you, you'd better find someone who has, stick real close to them, and keep them alive. They will tell you how to help set up an ambush for a tank. Just do what you are told or die trying.
We are in the process of refining the MXS rules for this game. The opposing side has to have some defense so if insufficient numbers of bazookas show up, they need some contingency plans for anti tank capabilities.
You DEMO players may be asked to engage my tank with Satchel Charges from 20 feet away. So IF you think you are a REAL Scenario Player, you can sign up DEMO and run Towards the tank while everyone else is running AWAY.
So look for the posts. As I am notified, I will post here.
I do want to emphasize the MXS rules. I CAN'T hear a THING inside that tank. You can SCREAM you are out but I may not hear you.
I need VISUAL CUES! Raise your hands, stand up, and walk out. Don't RUN out. That is a guy making a move or running away. That will draw my fire.
The reason it is this way, is simply that inside environment of any tank is LITERALLY like being inside a 55 gal drum with guys shooting hundreds of paintballs at it. You can't hear each other yell at each other inside much less some guy 30 feet away eating dirt and telling the ants he is out... Add the noise of the gunner shooting out and engine noise if it is a motorized tank and it is pretty much impossible for a grunt calling himself out to be heard from inside the tank.
Infantry's defense is to try a blind the driver and gunner with paintball spray so the anti tank players can get off a well aimed shot before they are spotted. So they just pound the tank with paintballs. But the result is we often don't SEE very well either. I carry a water spray bottle so at least I can see where I'm walking. But some of you just can't resist. IT'S FUN to blast away at a tank!
So give the tanks VISUAL CUES. CLEARLY raise your hands, stand up, and WALK out of the fight with your hands WAY UP.
If you have no anti tank capabilities and don't have any with your squad, you have several choices. Run, Hide, Surrender, or Die.
As a grunt I never liked any of those choices so I built a RPG.
I share my old technology. A home made RPG is not that hard to make nor very expensive.
About $125 if you have to buy everything.
HALF that price is your standard paintball inline regulator you need to step down your CO2/Air tank to the 100-150 psi used in most home made bazookas. If you already have one or can pick one up used, then the rest is maybe $40-60 and basically just a plumbing project. Not a lot of fabrication unless you want to get fancy.
I have pictures, How To Word Files, Vendors, etc. If you get started, you can have one ready for the game.
E mail me for info at: ddupont@charter.net
Tell me about your fabrication skills and experience. What you want to build for an anti tank weapon. Two kinds Short range (30 -100 feet) and portable ARTILLERY with a 50-75 yard range that can reach out and touch someone, tanks, builidings, bridges, etc. |
